This one is the worst ever!!!
Email from customer:
Hi there,
I just moved to a new home last week and am looking to get a new fence for our pool. The pool has an existing fence that the previous owners bought online and installed themselves. The fence seems a bit flimsy and doesn’t have a door and is very poorly installed.
I wanted to know what the options would be as the deck would likely quite interfere with the fence.
We have a 10 month old so we’re eager to get something set up.
Thanks so much for considering and have a great weekend…
Answer from Guardian Pool Fence Systems:
Thank you for reaching out, as per the onsite inspection of the fencing you have by our professional installer. There are a number of issues that are most evident with the fencing system you have:
- The most obvious is the poor installation. The holes were not drilled and measured properly
- The tops of the poles are all damaged as a result of using a hammer to pound the poles into the sleeves. This should never be the case and is a major NO, NO!!
- The fencing is spaced at 40″ between posts, the max should be no more than 36″
- The actual mesh is of very poor quality
- The fencing should never have been installed near a raised deck as a child can easily climb over it
- A self-closing gate is the most important part of the fencing system as it eliminates the worry of whether the fencing was left open or not and yet it was not installed due to cost or inability to install properly.
Guardian Pool Fence Recommendations:
- It’s best to have a new pool fence system with a self-closing gate professionally installed.

POOR DIY INSTALLATION GONE HORRIBLY WRONG :
This is a job we went to see that was done by an inexperienced worker from a local pool company. Unfortunately the customer paid $2500.00 for this horrible job. The customer trusted a pool contractor that doesn’t install many fences to install it for them. What a mess. We couldn’t believe what we saw and had to write about it with the hope that this situation doesn’t happen to anyone else. These are some of the pitfalls that do-it-yourselfers and inexperienced people are falling into when they try to install the fence themselves. Be smart, save money and headaches trust Guardian Pool Fence Systems to do it right the first time!! We guarantee it!! Remember it’s SAFETY for your kids!! Don’t go out for dinner this month and Buy a GUARDIAN POOL FENCE the BEST SAFETY POOL FENCE !

ANOTHER BAD DIY INSTALLATION
Hi,
I had you quote us for a pool safety fence and elected to go a different route as I was convinced by my pool company and also my husband is a contractor.
I realize I made a huge mistake and I am now desperate for your help.. to help keep my three children who are under the age of 4 safe.
We are a great example of a BAD DIY INSTALLATION GONE WRONG
We trusted our pool guy and purchased a safety fence from a local POOL DISTRIBUTOR and he assured us he could install it.
The fence has been nothing but trouble. It sags and the MAGNA LATCH system does not self close – and I simply do not trust it.
I also have 4 unused sections in my pool shed that I paid for.
I know you did not install my fence, but I’m truly desperate to get it done properly. It keeps me up at night thinking my children are not safe.
Can you please provide me with a quote to repair the fence.
Sincerely,
A. Hall
